For those who care, I’ve been busy and have been neglecting adding posts to this, my website. To catch you up, I’ve retired from full-time teaching high school, and am now an adjunct art professor with Montgomery College, MD.
I taught two classes for them in the Spring 2011. I am currently (Fall 2011) teaching a Watercolor Techniques class for them at the Holiday Park Senior Center (see my classes page for more info.).
I’m also preparing to teach another three or four classes for them in the Spring of 2012: Basic Drawing (again), Watercolor Techniques (again), and NEW – Art Appreciation and Analysis and NEW – Basic Portraits. These two NEW classes will be offered starting in February (Spring 2012) at the Montgomery College Takoma Park campus. For more information on these two NEW classes, see the School of Art + Design at Montgomery College website: http://www.mcadmd.org/ .
Besides teaching college classes, I’m also preparing for a exhibition in October at the Kentlands Mansion in Gaithersburg, MD. I’ll be presenting twelve new pieces that are all based on a concept called “Understanding Artistic Inspiration and the Art of Creative Reaction”. I’ve written a paper and will be giving a short presentation on the topic at the exhibition reception on October 11th at 7pm. The following are a few of the new pieces that will be in the show.
